Doctors Support

Video Counselling and Psychotherapy for Doctors and other National Health Service employees.

Over the last twenty-plus years, I have had the pleasure of assisting many NHS doctors, psychologists and support workers with their personal and professional challenges. My style of work, as you will have noted elsewhere here, is supportive and psychodynamic, getting 'to the root of things' to promote well-being and facilitate more permanent changes. If Cognitive Behavioural Therapy has not been useful for you, if you have a complex set of needs, or you are more of a self-reflector by nature, then my style of working may be of use.

I believe understanding the challenges both professional and personal that NHS workers face is of paramount importance in successful treatment and outcome. The NHS presents, and the professionals who work within it meet, a unique combination of factors that can both exacerbate stress, anxiety and depression, while
sometimes inhibiting seeking help.

A busy work schedule can mean arrangements have to be fitted in where possible. I have conducted sessions with doctors as they move around from job to job or country to country, who are in their on-call rooms, in private meeting rooms, away at conferences, and on one occasion a cleaning equipment storage cupboard, grounding a young doctor who was having an anxiety attack.

I tend to enjoy my sessions with doctors; they are well motivated and able to think around corners as needed to look at alternative solutions to both new and old 'hamster-wheel' challenges. I will always do my best to accommodate a shift pattern or changing schedules because of works demands. As I do not book in as many clients as will fit my diary, I have the flexibility necessary to work with doctors and NHS workers professional demands.

Our first session will be to ensure as much as possible that the style of treatment I provide fits your needs, and what are the best options for you.
